We are all amused by translations gone truly bad. Take the legendary example, where “the spirit is strong but the flesh is weak” becomes “the vodka is good but the meat is rotten” in Russian. For this reason, important projects cannot be trusted to computer translation. Computer assisted translation, however is not the same. Here, the human translator provides the best possible quality output regardless of the quality of the source text.
